Host Larger Phone & Web Conferences On-the-Fly
That's right, you can now host up to 100 people (phones lines and browser connections to be more specific) with no reservation required. The default limit on our systems was previously 40, but recent improvements in our system capacity and scalability have allowed us to raise this limit - at no cost to you. Need to frequently conference with over 100 people? Give us a call.
WebInterpoint version 6.0 is now available
Actually, it has been for about a month now - just in case we haven't gotten around to telling you in person yet. Click here for a service overview. The first major improvement is that there is no software required to host a web conference. Simply go to URL www.infiniteconferencing.com/join and log in to begin your session. Participants will go to the same URL and simply type their Participant (entry) Code. As with the previous version, you must click the [Start] button to begin the session before your Participants can join.
New features of version 6.0 include:
* Host control passing: Allow any Participant to lead by simply right-clicking their name in the Attendee List and selecting [Make Presenter] from the pop-up menu.
* Integrated Attendee List: The right-hand side of the host console shows all Participants as they join along with their contact information, if they provided it (only the name is required).
* Faster Application/Desktop Sharing: It's so good, that we dropped the separate co-browse button. Now you can simply share a browser window instead. Participants see everything you do in near real-time - from your mouse clicks to your keyboard typing. App/Desktop Sharing is great for software demos and training, web tours and other forms of online group collaboration.
Coming Soon! - "Remote Control". The next release of WebInterpoint is due out in mid to late summer and it will feature a remote control function. You will be able to select a participant from the Attendee List and allow them to control your computer through their mouse movements and keyboard typing. Don't worry, you will be able to take back control at any time.
Webcasting - Audio & Video Streaming
What is webcasting? It is the broadcast of live or on-demand (pre-recorded) media via the Internet. Participants need only a Net-connected computer with soundcard and speakers. When should you consider webcasting? It's great for:
* Giving a large audience listen-only access to your conference calls
* Reaching a global audience efficiently with minimal costs
* Adding video streaming so that participants can "see" your speakers

Tips & Tricks for better Reservationless/automated conference calls
The Basics:
Don't forget to hang up. Don't laugh, it happens all the time. People frequently put their phones on "speaker" or "hands free" during a conference call (bad idea if it is not muted because of the feedback/ echo this frequently causes) and forget to hang up the phone once the conference call is over. As a conference host you can protect yourself from paying for these unnecessary line usage charges by utilizing the "99" touchtone command - this manually forces the conference call to end (all lines immediately disconnected). If you know that the conference is over and that nobody should be staying on the line to talk after you disconnect, go ahead and dial "99" after your closing remarks.
Advanced:
Do you frequently host conference calls with participants that do not know each other? If so, you may want to have your conference "room" set to "Music-await-Chair" - participants are placed on hold (with music) until the chairperson joins. By default, we setup all new rooms so that they are interactive - participants can talk to each other prior to the Chairperson joining. Just call (888.203.7900) or email (ops@infiniteconferencing.com) Customer Service if you would like to switch to Music-await-Chair.
