Power Tips from the President:
Save Time with Record and Playback Options
As President of Infinite Conferencing, Keith Maddox is the ultimate power user. The head of the Milburn, N.J., company really knows the ins and outs of using conferencing technology. Maddox takes a break from his busy schedule to reveal one of his secrets to saving time: the record and playback options for conference calls, Web conferences, webinars and webcasts. Here’s what the President had to say:
You're a busy person, right? Of course you are. Who isn’t? The point is, so are the people you invite to your virtual meetings, presentations and training (conference calls, Web conferences, webinars, etc.) Unless you need their input, why not record the session and give them the option to play it back later at a convenient time? This utilizes our conferencing technology.
Below is an overview of your record and playback options through Infinite Conferencing. There are fees associated with most of these options, so be sure to touch base with your account manager before using any of them for the first time.
Recording Conference Calls
Whether you are having an automated phone conference or a large tele-event with our team of professional operators, you have the ability to record the live audio and let your participants play it back at their convenience, through their phone or via the Internet.
For people to play back the recording via the Internet, they will need an Internet-connected computer with a soundcard (standard with most computers today) and speakers.
-
Automated conference calls: If you are utilizing our Reservationless (24/7, on-demand) conference call service, you initiate the recording through your phone’s touchtone keypad. Once the recording is captured on our system, it is immediately available for playback for those who want to dial in via the telephone to listen. If you want to make it available for playback via the Internet, you must call or email us, and we will send you the recording as a digital file (.wav). Then you can put the file anywhere on your website and send people the link; they just click to play it back.
*Warning*: If you record another conference call on the automated system, it overwrites your previous recording. Click here to see our detailed user guides for instructions on initiating a recording and phone access to automated playback.
-
Operator-Assisted conference calls: For your tele-events, simply tell us to record when you make your reservation, and we take it from there. You have the same two options for later playback: telephone or Internet access.
Recording Web Conferences, Webinars and Webcasts
Our webcast (video and/or audio streaming) packages all automatically include recording, archiving and hosting of playback media at no extra charge. It is not necessary to request that a recording be made in advance. We host the playback file for six months. Click here to learn more about our webcasting services and conferencing technology.
In mid-to-late April 2005, Infinite Conferencing will release a new fully-automated record and playback feature with its WebInterpoint Web conferencing service.
Until then, to record your Web conference or webinar through our system for later playback, you need to "make a reservation." Our event services team records the entire session, including the audio and visuals, edits the saved media file as necessary, and puts the finished file set on our production hosting server. Then you simply give people the link. They have one-click access to your pre-recorded meeting for on-demand playback.
The power to save time is now in your hands with our conferencing technology.
